Dear Friend:
In 1976 two country churches merged that go back to the late 1800's: the Elkdale Baptist Church and the West Clifford Community Church. We are now the Elkdale Baptist Church Of West Clifford. In 1983, I came as Pastor and have counted it a privilege to serve God in this community these many years. I want to extend to you an invitation to visit with us. We have the atmosphere of a small old-fashioned country church but still maintain a big heart for people. Having been at the church for 28 years now, I have learned that the Word of God never gets old, and it is as exciting to preach the Bible's unchangable truths today as it was in 1983 when I first came to the church. I do not claim to be a great orator, but I believe you will find some great truths in these Sermon Archive Pages. We will be adding sermons on a regular basis so do check them from time to time for new messages. We may ad Audio and Video messages in the future but through the years I have found reading Bible lessons is much more practical. So this is where we are starting and will expand as the Lord gives us liberty to do so.
Through these many years I have written Scripture songs for our choir, congregation and childrens groups. We usually sing one of these Scripture Songs each Sunday Morning. Through these years we have custom taylored the music and drama of our Easter Musicals and Christmas musicals for the talent we have in the church. Many of the people involved at one time were in our childrens programs and are now adults and married. It is marvelous to have witnessed this transition to adult hood for these young people. Some of them now have children and we are seeing a new generation of young people who are now being nurtured in the Lord.My wife and I have been blessed to have been part of this church and community for 28 years now. We have learned much through these years and are grateful to Lord for having allowed us to raise a family in the quiet Endless Mountains Region of Pennsylvania.
We officially came to the church around Christmas time in 1983 and we celebrate our anniverary every New Year's Eve, by doing a special Christmas Musical that we write and preform. We hope you will join us and visit with us during one of our special musical presentations as well as other regularly scheduled activities. Check out our yearly calendar for special events. CLICK HERE TO SEE OUR YEARLY CALENDAR OF EVENTS Our church focuses in on being a simple Bible Based Church. We preach the Bible, Pray, and Sing God's music. We seek to be a light house in our community and around the world as the Lord gives us opportunity. In Matthew 26:30 we read that Jesus taught his disciples, sang a hymn and then went up to the Mount of Olives to pray. Pretty simple, and that simple formula was what all the little country churches of our nation followed since the pilgrims landed. Today everyone is looking for something new and with all our New Ways, New Bibles, New Ideas, we have strayed from the Old Paths which is bringing our nation only to confusion. This is our desire, with simplicity, to be singularly preaching, loving and serving our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. If you are like minided we invite you to join us in this ministry and goal.
