Recreational Music

BRINGING PEOPLE TOGETHER WITH MUSIC

AT PIANO ORGAN DEPOT

I’ll never forget when I hit 50 and I received a letter from some company called AARP. I said to my wife, "what is this AARP stuff." She said, "it was the Association for the Advancement of Retired Persons": I was a bit insulted to think I was a senior citizen. Then one child after another got married and then came grandchildren. Suddenly the realty hit me I am indeed a senior citizen. The fact is my house is paid, the kids are on their own and now I have the time to think about doing some things I really want to do. Heading up this recreational music program is one of those things I have wanted to do for a while.

Becoming a senior citizen is a milestone in your life. And with that milestone can come opportunities. When talking about music with almost every senior I meet they have said they wish they had music in their life. Since we are a Piano and Organ sales and service company most have said they wished they could play one or the other. Also most seniors think it is too late to learn. But nothing is further from the truth. Now is the time to finally do some of the things you have always wanted to do, and music is part of that. With the assistance of some of the largest Music Merchants in the world, our company has branched out to make your dream come true. We are offering FREE INTRODUCTORY MUSIC LESSONS and a FREE INSTRUMENT that will make it possible for you to make music after the first lesson. I believe that in 6 weeks you will be able to bring music into your home and it will be fun, easy and relaxing.

The truth is that for many people reaching age 50 and above is not a milestone that brings joy and fulfillment, as it should. The worst thing that can happen to anyone who retires is to cease being active and keeping their minds active by learning new things. It is a scientific fact that music stimulates our brains and has therapeutic value. As far back as Bible times music was used to calm a person's spirit. The prophet Elisha, when he was stressed out about the decline of the morals of the leadership in his nation said, "Call a minstrel" and when the minstrel played he was refreshed and had a positive attitude once again and was a help to others. This account is found in II Kings 3:15.

Few people know this, but when Einstein hit a dead end in his research he would take a break and play music. After this break he found himself refreshed and able to do better in his work.

It has been reported that Handel was commissioned to compose his famous "Water Music" at the request of King George I of England to aid him with his poor memory. So playing and even listening to certain music has been proven to help stimulate memory, relieve tension, and calm our spirits.

I believe that playing music is more rewarding and therapeutic than just listening to music. What we seek to do is to help you make music, not just listen to it. When you play music you are actively involved in an activity that will give you all the benefits that we have mentioned plus you will be able to bring joy to those who hear you in the creative act of making music. There is nothing more satisfying than bringing music into your life and the lives of others.

We have purchased a truckload of entry level compact keyboard instruments that are simple to use and take up less space than anything I currently know of. These instruments known as "Quick Starts" will be placed in your home absolutely free for 6 weeks. The only thing you need buy is the music that you get to keep. There is no obligation or pressure to buy. After 6 weeks we will come and pick up this instrument at no cost to you. At that time and I believe even by the 4th week, you can decide if you wish to continue in this pursuit. So call us now to get started in this great program that we call MUSIC FOR LIFE.
